Cinnamon Vanilla Vegan Smoothie (Total Time: 5 minutes, Serves: 1)

I pretty much eat a smoothie every single morning. During the school year my go to was a cinnamon banana smoothie with plenty of greek yogurt. First off, berries and other fruit are expensive, and second, I needed some protein. After eating this religiously, I realized that most of my smoothie recipes are not vegan, so I altered my recipe to come up with this smoothie for my vegan pals. While this smoothie doesn’t quite pack as much protein as adding dairy would, it has a fair amount, plus it’s got some carbs in it to keep you full. This smoothie is tasty served up right away, or you can store it overnight and it will thicken up even more.

Ingredients

1 frozen banana (if you don’t have a frozen one, add a few ice cubes)

2 tbsp almond or peanut butter

1/3 cup oats

2/3 cup almond milk

1 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

1 date (or a tbsp maple syrup)

Directions

1: Add all of your ingredients to a blender. Blend well for a minute or two on high until you have a smooth and creamy mixture.

2: Pour into a glass and drink up!
